The Syrian Future Movement extends its warmest congratulations and pride to the great Syrian people on the final and unconditional termination of the Caesar Act, following the signing of the 2026 National Defense Authorization Act by US President Donald Trump, which completely repealed the Act.
The Syrian Future Movement affirms that this historic achievement did not come about by chance, but is the fruit of immense sacrifices made by the Syrian people over many years of suffering and resilience in the face of war and a harsh economic blockade.
It is also the result of intensive and organized diplomatic efforts led by the Syrian community in the United States, in cooperation with Syrian-American organizations such as the Syrian American Council and the Syrian American Alliance for Peace and Prosperity, alongside the support of the Syrian Transitional Government led by President Ahmed al-Sharaa.
These joint efforts have proven that the unity and determination of the Syrian people are capable of changing reality, no matter the challenges.
The Syrian Future Movement views the termination of the Caesar Act as the dawn of a new day for Syria, opening up horizons of recovery and prosperity after years of economic isolation that burdened our people and hindered our development. With this achievement, we enter a post-legal phase that requires the Syrian government and all Syrians, both inside and outside the country, to share a historical responsibility to work diligently and systematically on the political, economic, and investment reforms necessary to build a new Syria.
From this perspective, the Syrian Future Movement affirms the following national vision for the next phase:
- Comprehensive Political Reform: Expediting the drafting of a new, democratic constitution that guarantees the separation of powers, human rights, and equal citizenship, along with holding free and fair elections in which all segments of the Syrian people participate.
- Economic and Investment Reform: Developing transparent and effective economic plans to attract foreign and domestic investments, revitalize productive sectors, combat corruption, and achieve a just distribution of wealth, with a focus on sustainable reconstruction and supporting affected communities.
- Strengthening National Unity and Reconciliation: Launching a comprehensive national dialogue that brings together all national political forces and activating transitional justice mechanisms to address the wounds of the past without exclusion or revenge.
- Preserving Sovereignty and Independence: Building balanced foreign relations that serve the interests of the Syrian people first and foremost, while rejecting any interference that infringes upon the nation’s sovereignty or unity.
The Syrian Future Movement, born from the spirit of the blessed Syrian revolution, pledges to exert every possible effort to support and contribute to these reforms, whether through political proposals or on-the-ground programs.
Our responsibility today is greater than ever: to transform the lifting of sanctions into a genuine opportunity for progress, not to return to the mistakes of the past.
