Media and collective memory seminar and the rejection of hate speech

In an effort to strengthen the role of media in building national awareness and countering hate speech, a delegation from the Syrian Future Movement, headed by its president, Dr. Zaher Badran, participated in a dialogue seminar organized by the Syrian Media Code of Ethics Committee in cooperation with Enab Baladi Media Foundation. The seminar, titled “The Impact of Media on Collective Memory and Hate Speech,” was held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the Sheraton Hotel in Damascus.

During his participation, Dr. Badran delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of networking between state and private media outlets, on the one hand, and the media offices of political movements and parties, on the other, to create effective communication channels with the public within the country.

He stressed the need to move beyond mere rhetoric to joint media projects that contribute to consolidating positive collective memory and confronting hate speech in all its forms.

This participation reflects the Syrian Future Movement’s commitment to supporting national media initiatives and strengthening the role of media as a tool for positive change and building a cohesive society based on the values ​​of dialogue and openness.
