Aramex resumes transportation and logistics services in Syria

On November 2, 2025, Aramex announced on its official social media channels the resumption of its commercial and service operations in Syria after a hiatus of more than ten years. This move is considered a significant indicator of the return of some regional and international companies to the Syrian market.

The Syrian Future Movement, which is following this economic development with interest, views this step as an initial sign of the potential for restoring confidence in the Syrian business environment. At the same time, it emphasizes that any genuine economic openness cannot succeed unless it is built on clear foundations of transparency, the rule of law, and ensuring economic justice for all Syrians. The return of regional and international companies to Syria should be interpreted as a test of international confidence in the national transformation process and the ability of the new Syrian institutions to manage the economy according to standards of integrity and accountability, free from the networks of corruption and monopoly that have plagued the national economy for decades.

The Syrian Future Movement believes this event can serve as a starting point for rebuilding Syria’s logistics infrastructure on modern foundations, connecting ports, airports, and free zones with a modern and sustainable transportation network. This will establish a competitive economy open to the region and the world, positively impacting job opportunities and local development.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that the return of foreign companies must be part of a comprehensive national vision for ethical and economic reconstruction, not merely a superficial opening or isolated investment. Genuine development in the new Syria must be built on the principles of transparency, social justice, and environmental protection to ensure that all Syrians benefit, not just a limited group or a specific center of influence.

In this context, the Syrian Future Movement calls for the establishment of a National Council for Sustainable Development and Investment. This council would include representatives from the transitional government, the private sector, and civil society, tasked with regulating the return of foreign companies and investments in a manner consistent with the supreme national interest and that strengthens confidence in the new Syrian economy. The Syria of the future we aspire to is a Syria open to the world with confidence and responsibility, welcoming international companies and institutions not as a replacement for the state, but as partners in development and reconstruction, within a framework of national sovereignty, good governance, and absolute transparency.

With this vision, the Syrian Future Movement affirms that a free economy is incomplete without justice, openness bears fruit only with trust, and investment is sustainable only under the rule of law.
