The Syrian Future Movement is closely following the announcement made by the Internal Security Command in Latakia Governorate on October 25, 2025, regarding the dismantling of several terrorist and criminal cells aimed at destabilizing the governorate.
In this context, we affirm the Movement’s unwavering position in supporting legitimate state institutions, ensuring the protection of the people from any form of tyranny or injustice, and refraining from targeting sectarian or social affiliations.
The Syrian Future Movement appreciates the efforts made by the security services to protect the lives and property of citizens, and considers these operations part of the state’s responsibility to maintain security and stability. We also emphasize the importance of security operations being governed by the law, clear in their objectives, and transparent in their mechanisms, leaving no room for interpretation as selective or sectarian.
The Syrian Future Movement views Latakia Governorate as an essential part of the Syrian national fabric. We affirm that security and stability are a shared responsibility of all components of society, without any discrimination based on sectarian or political considerations. We also call on citizens to cooperate with security agencies by providing information and observations that would enhance stability, while emphasizing their legitimate rights to protection and justice. We call on local civil society leaders to actively participate in monitoring the implementation of these operations to ensure justice and transparency and build bridges of trust between citizens and security institutions.
The Syrian Future Movement recommends that the Syrian government:
- Transparency and Accountability: Publish brief periodic reports on the results of investigations and security operations, while respecting the confidentiality of sensitive information, to enhance public confidence in the security services.
- Independence of Security Decisions: Separate the fight against terrorism from any political or economic interests, to avoid any abuse of power.
- Involvement of Judicial Institutions: Ensure fair trials for defendants, in accordance with national and international legal standards.
- Community Prevention and Awareness: Develop awareness programs in local communities to reduce the negative impact of terrorist and criminal networks.
The Syrian Future Movement affirms its rejection of any sectarian or inflammatory rhetoric in dealing with these events. The movement also supports strengthening national stability and social cohesion, and emphasizes that confronting terrorism and crime must be conducted in accordance with the law and in a manner that protects all citizens. National action requires a balance between protecting security and guaranteeing human rights, to ensure the building of a stable Syrian society with equal rights.
