Visit the Syrian Development Fund

As part of strengthening national partnership and integrating development efforts, a delegation from the Syrian Future Movement, headed by Dr. Zaher Badrani, head of the movement, made an official visit to the Prime Minister’s Office in Damascus on Tuesday, October 13, 2025. The delegation met with the Director of the Syrian Development Fund, Dr. Safwat Raslan, and several members of the Fund’s executive team.

During the meeting, Dr. Raslan gave a detailed presentation on the Syrian Development Fund’s mandate, its working mechanisms, and the development projects it oversees. He emphasized that the Fund constitutes a strategic pillar in the process of rebuilding Syria and achieving sustainable development at the national level.

The Syrian Development Fund was established pursuant to Presidential Decree No. (112) of 2025. It is a national economic institution with financial and administrative independence, directly linked to the Presidency of the Republic. The Fund aims to:

  • Finance reconstruction projects in infrastructure and basic services.
  • Support economic and social development in various Syrian governorates.
  • Empower rural and marginalized communities through sustainable development initiatives.
  • Strengthening partnerships with the public and private sectors and international institutions.

The visiting delegation discussed with the Fund’s management a set of proposals aimed at enhancing institutional cooperation and expanding community participation in the formulation and implementation of development projects.

Dr. Raslan also answered the delegation’s inquiries regarding technical and administrative aspects and provided comprehensive clarifications on the current work of the executive team, emphasizing the Fund’s commitment to the highest standards of transparency and professionalism.

The Syrian Future Movement delegation appreciated the efforts made by the Fund’s management and expressed its full support for efforts aimed at consolidating sustainable development. They emphasized the importance of active participation in monitoring institutional performance and presenting initiatives that contribute to the development of national action.

  • Mr. Basil Qabbani, Member of the Political Bureau
  • Ms. Reem Halali, Member of the Economic Bureau
  • Mr. Ziad Abu Hamdan, from As-Suwayda Governorate (guest of the movement)
  • Mr. Saeed Karimo, Member of the Organizational Bureau
  • Mr. Jumaa Muhammad Lahib, Director of the Research and Studies Department in the Scientific Bureau
  • Dr. Samer Kahwaji, Member of the Family Affairs Office

The Syrian Future Movement delegation was also accompanied by a delegation from the International Association of Universities, headed by Professor Dr. Muhammad Khair al-Ghabani. The delegation included Mr. Amer Mansour, Member of the International Association of Universities, and Ms. Dima Dahman, Secretary to the President of the Association in Syria.

The Syrian Future Movement affirms that this visit comes within the context of positive interaction with national institutions and the promotion of a culture of constructive cooperation, in order to achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people for a prosperous future based on justice, development, and active participation in decision-making.
