The Syrian-Russian Relationship

The Syrian Future Movement, in light of what was revealed by the Wall Street Journal about Russia’s efforts to strike a deal with the new Syrian government to maintain its military bases in Syria after the fall of its ally Bashar al-Assad’s regime, affirms its commitment to pushing for a new chapter in balanced international relations that serve Syria’s national interests and enhance its stability and security.

The Syrian Future Movement, while seeking to strengthen these relations to serve the interests of both countries, emphasizes the necessity for Syria to remain a non-aligned state against any international party, whether it be the United States or Western countries.

The Syrian Future Movement believes in the importance of maintaining positive and balanced diplomatic relations with all nations, ensuring that no hostile stance is taken toward any regional or international party. We also seek to build bridges of communication and cooperation with everyone to achieve security and stability in the region.

The Syrian Future Movement supports establishing new relations with Russia based on shared interests and mutual respect. We emphasize the importance of these relations in contributing to the success of the current phase of reconstruction and development in Syria and strengthening its ability to face economic and political challenges.

The Syrian Future Movement is committed to working with the international community to build a better future for the Syrian people, without entering into axis alignments, to achieve security and peace in the region.
