The Syrian Future Movement condemns at this critical stage the decision of the “SAMS” organization to halt its support for Bab al-Hawa Hospital in the Idlib countryside, which has led to the suspension of all specialized and non-emergency medical services, closing the doors to thousands of patients and injured individuals, except for emergency cases, as of Saturday, 2025/2/08.
The Syrian Future Movement considers this decision, which coincided on the same day with a visit by a UN delegation to Idlib under the pretext of “enhancing health support,” a blatant contradiction between the rhetoric of international organizations about “humanitarian solidarity” and their actual practices that deepen the suffering of the Syrian people. While the United Nations claims to seek the reconstruction of destroyed hospitals, one of the most important medical centers in northwestern Syria is forced to suspend its operations due to the withdrawal of donors, a step that constitutes a new stab at the humanitarian cause and adds to the record of international failure in assuming moral and legal responsibility toward the victims.
