From the memory of the Syrian revolution: 08/09/2011

On this day in 2011: The Kurdish Future Movement announced that prominent Syrian Kurdish opposition leader Mashaal Tammo survived an assassination attempt. According to a statement from the Movement’s Public Relations Office, Tammo was in the Korniche neighborhood of Qamishli when a group of Shabiha attempted to assassinate him. Individuals on a motorcycle blocked his car, while another group in a civilian vehicle carried out the operation.
