On Saturday morning, August 8, 2026, the Popular Base Office of the Syrian Future Movement held a meeting in Damascus. The meeting, chaired and convened by the office director, Mr. Haidar al-Hammadi, was attended by a number of members and staff. The purpose of the meeting was to complete the office’s organizational structure, activate its community and grassroots role, and strengthen its presence within the institutional framework of the Syrian Future Movement.
The meeting began with a welcome to the attendees and introductions among the members and staff. A briefing was then given on the Syrian Future Movement, its national vision, its institutional development, the roles of its various offices, and the importance of integration among them in the political, social, scientific, medical, family, and service sectors. This integration aims to strengthen the movement’s presence in Syrian society and translate its vision into practical and organized action.
The attendees extensively discussed the Charter of the Popular Base Office, which serves as the organizational, ethical, and professional framework for the office’s work. Its articles were reviewed and discussed, particularly those pertaining to the office’s vision of building a conscious national popular base, strengthening direct communication between the Syrian Future Movement and the community, expanding participation and membership, attracting qualified individuals and community activists, forming specialized committees as needed, developing regular programs and activities, and maintaining continuous coordination with the Movement’s leadership and its various offices.
The meeting also included a dialogue on the current popular and national needs and aspirations, and ways to develop communication tools with the community, listen to its issues and concerns, and convey them institutionally. This aims to make the Popular Base Office a genuine space for interaction between the Movement and citizens, not merely an internal organizational framework.
The attendees emphasized the importance of the office’s work being based on openness to all segments of Syrian society, promoting a culture of participation, responsibility, and collective action, and ensuring that the popular base is a partner in shaping the vision and initiatives, not merely a recipient of political or social activity.
After extensive discussion of the charter’s articles, the attendees unanimously approved the charter of the Popular Base Office of the Syrian Future Movement, affirming their commitment to its provisions and to translating them into practical programs, activities, and initiatives, in accordance with the movement’s internal regulations, bylaws, and national vision.
The Syrian Future Movement believes that activating the Popular Base Office represents a significant step in strengthening the movement’s institutional structure and connecting it to Syrian society. This stems from a firm conviction that national political action is not completed within offices alone, but rather derives its meaning, legitimacy, and strength from direct communication with the people, listening to them, involving them, and transforming their aspirations into actionable visions and programs.
The Syrian Future Movement affirms its continued support for developing the work of the Popular Base Office and expanding its presence and activities in the coming phase. This will contribute to building a conscious and responsible national base, strengthening the culture of participation, citizenship, and public service, and serving the project of building a new Syria based on the foundations of the state, institutions, and the rule of law.
