International Day of Conscience

The Syrian Future Movement joins the international community in celebrating the “International Day of Conscience,” an occasion established by the United Nations General Assembly to promote a culture of peace through love and conscience.

We believe that restoring the concept of “conscience” in the Syrian political sphere is an existential necessity for rebuilding the shattered social contract.

The Syrian Future Movement believes that the current situation in Syria, characterized by the violation of life, dignity, and public funds, is a direct result of the absence of “political conscience” and the prioritization of narrow, sectarian interests over the supreme national interest.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that any reform process not based on a comprehensive “awakening of conscience” among the influential forces will remain merely a superficial measure lacking moral and popular legitimacy.

On this day, the Syrian Future Movement recalls its strategic vision, published on its official website, including our article titled “World Science Day for Peace and Development” (published on November 10, 2025), in which we emphasized the importance of conscience and its essential connection to culture in particular, and to all aspects of Syrian life in general.

The Syrian Future Movement notes with deep regret that the absence of conscience in managing crises and armed conflicts has inflicted enormous human and material losses on Syrians. Human development reports indicate that more than 90% of Syrians will be living below the poverty line in 2026, while the middle class has been completely eroded. The Syrian Future Movement believes that restoring conscience in the distribution of humanitarian aid and the management of national resources is essential to rescuing millions of families from the brink of starvation.

On this international day, the Syrian Future Movement reiterates its call to all parties to adhere to human and legal principles regarding the issue of detainees and the forcibly disappeared. The Syrian Future Movement affirms that closing this bleeding wound is the true test of “national conscience,” and without it, there can be no talk of a genuine revival. For Syria, or a genuine national reconciliation.

The Syrian Future Movement’s vision for the future revolves around building an educational system that instills the values of “collective conscience” and individual responsibility towards society.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that the future Syria must be led by competent national figures armed with knowledge and conscience, capable of rejecting subservience and corruption, and believing that national sovereignty begins with respecting the dignity of the citizen.

We in the Syrian Future Movement, on this International Day of Conscience, extend our hands to all the sincere members of our nation to work together to formulate a “National Charter of Honor” that elevates the human conscience in public service, so that we may guide Syria from the darkness of tyranny and corruption to the light of justice, freedom, and dignity.
