The Syrian Future Movement affirms its unwavering commitment to supporting digital transformation and sustainable agricultural development as essential elements in building a strong national economy based on innovation and efficiency, ensuring food security for Syrians during the reconstruction and stabilization phase.
The Syrian Future Movement welcomes the launch, on March 11, 2026, by the Syrian Ministry of Agriculture of the national platform “Ghiath” for monitoring and analyzing rainfall, in cooperation with the Madad Foundation for Development and Peacebuilding (MDP), as a significant step towards adopting a digital transformation approach in agricultural and climate management.
The Syrian Future Movement views this platform, which relies on a network of 166 active monitoring stations distributed across various Syrian regions, as a modern tool that provides accurate and reliable daily data. This includes rainfall reports, drought monitoring, a supplemental irrigation calculator, interactive maps, and historical statistical analysis, enabling farmers and technical personnel to make informed decisions that enhance agricultural productivity and reduce the risks of climate variability.
The Syrian Future Movement commends this initiative as part of national efforts to develop the agricultural and climate data system. It links this initiative to the National Agriculture Strategy 2030, announced in February 2026, which aims to achieve food security and sustainable development in light of the increasing climate challenges Syria has faced in recent years, including prolonged droughts and changing rainfall patterns.
The Syrian Future Movement calls for strengthening these efforts by expanding similar digital platforms (such as the recently launched livestock census platform), ensuring free and easy access for all farmers through applications and websites, training agricultural personnel on their use, and integrating them with climate disaster early warning systems. This will transform Syrian agriculture into a modern, science- and technology-driven model.
The Syrian Future Movement affirms its commitment to supporting all initiatives that contribute to empowering the agricultural sector, enhancing the Syrian farmer’s ability to confront climate challenges, and building a secure and sustainable food future that reflects the aspirations of the Syrian people after years of conflict and suffering.
