The Ministry of Health launched its comprehensive strategic plan for developing the health sector.

The Syrian Future Movement – founded in 2012 as an independent, national, and civil political entity, stemming from the spirit of the Syrian revolution and focused on strengthening Syrian cultural and intellectual identity while securing development and employment opportunities for young generations – announces its support for national reconstruction efforts during the critical transitional phase that Syria is experiencing after the fall of the dictatorial regime.

The Syrian Future Movement affirms its deep welcome of the Syrian Ministry of Health’s announcement, on January 5, 2026, of the launch of its comprehensive strategic plan for developing the health sector, which extends from 2026 to 2028, along with a review of the achievements of 2025, which included rehabilitating damaged health institutions, preparing a comprehensive health map, and improving the efficiency of primary healthcare. We believe this plan, based on a precise assessment of the sector’s reality, which suffered systematic collapse due to years of conflict, represents a qualitative leap towards restoring national health sovereignty, while taking into account transitional circumstances such as security instability in some areas and the chronic shortage of resources, which requires gradual implementation based on clear priorities.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes the importance of integrating this plan into an ambitious future vision for building a resilient health system capable of facing global challenges, such as climate change and potential pandemics by 2028, by focusing on preventive care, digital technology for telemedicine, and training national personnel to ensure long-term independence.
In the context of the transitional phase, we stress the necessity of supporting this vision with a national dialogue that includes all parties to avoid fragmentation and strengthen national unity. The Syrian Future Movement affirms its support for expanding regional and international partnerships as a fundamental mechanism for the plan’s success. Sixteen cooperation agreements have been signed with reputable humanitarian organizations such as the Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, the International Rescue Committee, NORWAC, and Qatar Charity, in addition to preparing 26 further agreements with countries such as Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and South Korea.
We believe that these partnerships must be subject to transparent oversight to ensure their independence from external political influences, with a focus on transferring technical expertise and supporting infrastructure during the transitional period, to achieve sustainability that goes beyond reliance on emergency aid.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes the need to address the real challenges of the transitional phase, such as the shortage of human and material resources and security risks, through clear oversight mechanisms to combat corruption and distribute resources fairly across the governorates.
We believe this approach will enhance public trust and pave the way for the post-transition phase, where the health sector becomes a cornerstone of national security and economic development.

In conclusion, the Syrian Future Movement reiterates its call to all political parties, civil society organizations, and the international community to strengthen these efforts through transparent cooperation that reflects the will of the Syrian people in building a future that transcends past suffering, towards a unified, prosperous, and independent Syria by 2028 and beyond, where health is a fundamental right that supports human dignity and social progress.
