The celebration of the Syrian revolution’s victory and a speech by the political bureau, Majid al-Azm

Statement by the Political Bureau of the Syrian Future Movement at the Central Ceremony Commemorating the First Anniversary of the Victory of the Syrian Revolution and the Fall of the Assad Regime

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Brothers and Sisters, Members and Cadres of the Syrian Future Movement

On this anniversary of victory and liberation, the day that restored Syria’s standing and its people’s dignity, we in the Syrian Future Movement stand before a historic imperative that compels us to rise to the occasion and declare clearly our unwavering principles and constants, which brook no compromise or hesitation.

Our people have traversed a long path of struggle and sacrifice to reach this moment of liberation, and it is our duty today—we in the Political Bureau of the Syrian Future Movement—to safeguard the gains of this victory and protect the identity of the new Syria, founded on sovereignty, dignity, and national independence.

Based on these principles, we affirm to all our people that we will not accept any form of normalization with the Zionist entity, neither today nor in the future, because normalization is not merely a political decision, but a moral and national stance that strikes at the very core of Syrian identity and the depth of its Arab affiliation. Any step that leads down this path contradicts Syria’s history, the blood of its people, and the principles upheld by successive generations in defense of truth, justice, and freedom.

We also affirm that our national decision within the Syrian Future Movement will remain independent, sovereign, and free from any external dictates.

We adhere to our just national causes and refuse to compromise on them under any circumstances. We believe that the new Syrian state can only be built by the will of its people and through a free decision that reflects their aspirations and hopes.

Preserving victory is a responsibility as important as achieving it.

Maintaining our independence, sovereignty, and dignity is the only way to establish a strong, unified, and influential Syria within its Arab, regional, and international environment.

May Syria grow stronger each year in its adherence to its principles, more capable of protecting its free decision, and closer to the future it deserves.
