Speech by the Economic Bureau of the Syrian Future Movement at the Central Ceremony Commemorating the First Anniversary of the Victory of the Syrian Revolution and the Fall of the Assad Regime
Distinguished attendees, brothers and sisters, members and cadres of the Syrian Future Movement, esteemed guests.
We meet today on this great national occasion that has filled all of us Syrians with joy: the anniversary of Victory and Liberation. This exceptional day marked a historic turning point in the journey of our nation and people, heralding the birth of a new Syria after long years of sacrifice and steadfastness in the face of one of the most brutal regimes in contemporary history.
This day is not merely a commemoration, but a living testament to the fact that when the will of the Syrian people unites with the national consciousness of its masses, it transforms adversity into opportunity, pain into hope, and siege into strength. This propels us toward self-reliance and the building of an independent future based on complete dignity on the one hand, and undiminished sovereignty on the other.
Distinguished attendees,
I am pleased to extend my special greetings and appreciation to the Syrian Future Movement; Our movement has never been one of slogans or platforms, but rather one of steadfast positions and national responsibility for over a decade, and continues to be so.
It is a movement that believes in building Syria as a state and a people, adheres to its shared identity and territorial integrity, and has never compromised on its sovereignty. It has remained present in the political, economic, social, and religious arenas, aligned with the aspirations of our people, supporting the supreme national interest, and defending its national security.
Throughout the liberation and reconstruction process, the movement’s leader, Dr. Zaher Badran, along with its members and cadres, has maintained an active presence in various national, political, economic, and social activities. This is not merely a symbolic presence, but a presence capable of transforming the proposals put forth in workshops, meetings, and conferences into practical plans and measurable, evaluable implementation programs, based on the belief that a nation is not built on slogans, but on projects and action.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Economic Bureau has developed a clear vision for the next phase, based on a set of strategic pillars, most notably:
First: Achieving economic justice through the redistribution of opportunities and development, and directing efforts toward the most vulnerable groups, including workers, small business owners, artisans, and young entrepreneurs, as they are the backbone of genuine economic growth.
Second: Empowering small, medium, and micro enterprises, as they are the lifeblood of the national economy and a fundamental driver for job creation, increased production, and the revitalization of the Syrian economy.
The Economic Bureau is working on designing support, financing, and training programs to ensure these enterprises’ ability to launch and thrive.
Third: Building a new, balanced economic system that strives to achieve a genuine equilibrium between trade and industry, production and consumption, and domestic and foreign investment, thereby enhancing self-sufficiency, attracting capital, and restoring confidence in the Syrian economic environment.
Fourth: Strengthening regional and international economic partnerships, in line with Syria’s new position after liberation, and contributing to the reintegration of the Syrian economy into its Arab and regional environment on the basis of equality and mutual respect.
Fifth: Combating economic and administrative corruption, transforming the concept of transparency from a slogan into a practice, and ensuring that the next phase is based on the efficiency of institutions and the integrity of personnel.
Brothers and sisters, the first Liberation Day is not merely an occasion to celebrate, but rather the declaration of a new phase, one defined by: work, then construction, then restoring our role, and strengthening Syria’s presence in its Arab, regional, and international environment in a manner befitting its history and stature.
Today, having turned the page on a long chapter of suffering, we begin a phase of responsibility, work, and dedication; a phase of rebuilding what the war destroyed, launching a new national economy, opening doors for our youth to be active partners in development, and setting Syria on the path to stability and sustainable progress.
In conclusion:
Today we celebrate victory, but we believe that preserving it is more difficult than achieving it, and that building the new state requires awareness, will, and sincere cooperation among all the sons and daughters of this nation.
May Syria remain free, strong, and prosperous every year.
And may you always be the support and steadfast foundation of this nation in the coming phase of reconstruction.
