The Syrian Future Movement warmly welcomes the launch by the Ministry of Health of the Syrian Arab Republic of the National Strategic Health Plan for the period 2026-2028, which was announced on December 15, 2025, at the National Library in Damascus, under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic and in the presence of several ministers and representatives of relevant bodies.
The Syrian Future Movement believes that this comprehensive strategic plan, which aims to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the national health system, improve population health indicators, reduce morbidity and mortality rates, reform the health insurance system, and develop public health insurance towards comprehensive and equitable coverage, represents a promising qualitative step in the early recovery phase that Syria is witnessing after years of conflict and destruction. We see it as a practical expression of a serious national will to rebuild state institutions on modern and sustainable foundations that serve the dignity of the Syrian citizen and meet their aspirations for a decent life.
The Syrian Future Movement, founded in 2012 from the heart of the blessed Syrian revolution and driven by the principles of freedom, dignity, and social justice, firmly believes that health is an inherent and inalienable right for every Syrian citizen, and that building a strong and integrated health system is the cornerstone of any comprehensive national revival. Health is the foundation of economic productivity, social stability, and civil peace, and a fundamental condition for achieving the sustainable development we aspire to in the Syria of the future: a pluralistic, civil state based on the rule of law, respect for human rights, and equal citizenship.
The Syrian Future Movement calls for strengthening broad national participation in formulating and implementing this plan, including:
- The involvement of civil society, NGOs, independent experts, and medical professionals in all stages of implementation and evaluation.
- Ensuring complete transparency in the allocation of resources and the distribution of health services to all Syrian regions without exception or discrimination.
- Linking health reforms to a comprehensive reform system that includes combating corruption, improving living conditions, promoting transitional justice, and rebuilding trust between the state and its citizens. The Syrian Future Movement reaffirms the importance of leveraging international expertise and partnerships with global humanitarian and health organizations, while maintaining full national sovereignty in formulating health policies.
Based on its comprehensive national vision, the Syrian Future Movement reiterates its full commitment to supporting all initiatives and reforms that serve the best interests of the Syrian people and contribute to building a free, unified, independent, and prosperous Syria, worthy of the sacrifices of its people and the aspirations of future generations. It calls upon all active national forces to engage positively in this great national project, so that together we may build a future that reflects the highest values of humanity and progress.
