The Syrian Future Movement followed with interest the statements published in Syrian media on November 2, 2025, by the Suwayda Governorate and the Directorate of Education regarding the continuation of the educational process in the governorate, given the delicate political and social circumstances the region is experiencing.
While the Syrian Future Movement affirms that education is a national and human right that must not be subjected to any compromise or political manipulation, it calls upon all local forces and bodies in Suwayda, including opposition groups and civil society organizations, to keep schools and students neutral and free from any form of pressure or conflict, and to preserve the educational process as a paramount national interest that affects the future of all Syrians.
The Syrian Future Movement believes that protecting education at this stage is not limited to ensuring the continuity of classes and exams, but extends to safeguarding the future of an entire generation that has endured the horrors of war and division.
Education in Suwayda today can be a genuine gateway of hope for restoring trust between the state and the local community, and for establishing bridges of understanding and renewed dialogue based on respect for human dignity and recognition of diversity within the unity of the nation.
The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that building a new Syria requires restoring the school’s status as a unifying institution for all Syrians, producing generations committed to knowledge, reason, freedom, and citizenship, free from political or sectarian polarization, and thus restoring education’s role in achieving justice, development, and stability.
In this context, the Syrian Future Movement calls on the Ministry of Education and official bodies to continue supporting the educational process in Suwaida with flexibility and responsibility, in coordination with the local community, to ensure a safe and pressure-free learning environment that restores to students their natural right to knowledge and hope for a better future.
