Israeli patrol expelled in Quneitra countryside

The Syrian Future Movement followed with great interest the media reports of October 31, 2025, concerning the expulsion by residents of the town of Saida in the Quneitra countryside of an Israeli patrol that attempted to infiltrate liberated Syrian territory. The occupation forces responded by firing toward the area, causing tension along the border strip.

The Syrian Future Movement commends the patriotic stance of the people of Quneitra, who sincerely expressed their commitment to Syrian sovereignty and the unity of the national territory. It views this event as a clear expression of the continued popular national consciousness, despite the internal divisions and conflicts plaguing the country.

The Movement affirms that this popular behavior is responsible and deeply rooted in the conscience of Syrians, who reject occupation and hegemony, regardless of their source.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that defending national sovereignty is not achieved through slogans or empty rhetoric, but rather through building a state of law and institutions that restores its independent decision-making and prevents the exploitation of Syrian territory in regional conflicts or foreign agendas. After more than a decade of war, Syrians understand that they have no interest in a new military confrontation, and that protecting their land begins with rebuilding its people and institutions, not with perpetuating the logic of war.

From this perspective, the Syrian Future Movement calls on the Syrian government to exert every effort to secure the lives of citizens in southern Syria and to pursue all possible avenues to ensure they are not subjected to aggression or displacement. This includes exploring the possibility of establishing temporary, limited security arrangements with international bodies or relevant border parties, arrangements that safeguard the security of the population and prevent escalation, without infringing upon the country’s sovereignty or the Syrian people’s right to manage their own independent national affairs.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that establishing any security understandings, contingent upon transparency and national and international oversight, does not constitute a concession of rights, but rather a means to spare civilians the horrors of war and preserve stability through rational means that protect both the state and its people.

The Syrian Future Movement calls upon all segments of Syrian society, both inside and outside the country, to express their solidarity with the people of Quneitra, who faced the aggression with courage and responsibility, and to protect civilians there from any potential military or security escalation.

Defending all Syrians is a national and moral duty, and it is the true path to rebuilding national trust and repairing the social fabric torn apart by wars and interventions.

The Syrian Future Movement affirms that liberating the land is inseparable from liberating the people, and that national dignity is preserved when the state serves its citizens, not oppresses them.

In this context, the Syrian Future Movement believes that what happened in Quneitra serves as a reminder of the importance of restoring free national decision-making and building a pluralistic political system that reflects the will of the people and guarantees the unity and peace of the country.
