The world celebrates World Animation Day on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, to highlight an art form considered one of the most powerful means of creative, cultural, and educational expression. This date was chosen to commemorate the first public demonstration of the Théâtre Optique, invented by Charles-Émile Reynaud in 1892, considered one of the earliest forms of animation.
The Syrian Future Movement views this day as an important occasion to promote moral and national values during a sensitive period in Syria. Animation, as an entertaining art form, is an effective tool for conveying educational and moral messages and building a societal awareness capable of confronting the challenges of divisions and potential conflicts, especially in light of current disputes with certain regions and fears of a divided homeland.
The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that animation can be a means of rebuilding a shared national identity, strengthening solidarity among Syria’s diverse communities, and connecting younger generations to the country’s cultural heritage, while instilling the values of tolerance, cooperation, and social justice. It also provides an opportunity to convey civic values in an engaging manner, free from any sectarian or separatist rhetoric.
The Syrian Future Movement calls on all educational, cultural, and artistic institutions to seize this day to organize workshops and educational and artistic performances focusing on national unity, sustainable development, and respect for cultural diversity. This will contribute to building a new, strong, and cohesive Syria based on the values of citizenship and civic responsibility.
The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that art and creativity are among the most important tools for the internal and intellectual reconstruction of Syrian society, and that investing in culture and the arts is the foundation for achieving social justice and strengthening national stability during the transitional phase.
