At a pivotal moment in Syria’s history, and following the official announcement of the members of the new legislative body on Monday, October 6, 2025, the Syrian Future Movement expresses its unwavering national stance in support of the success of the transitional period and the building of state institutions based on justice, citizenship, and transparency.
The Syrian Future Movement believes that the formation of this legislative body, despite structural and representative challenges, represents a first step toward restoring political and constitutional life in the country and establishes a new phase of joint national action, free from exclusion and monopolization, and closer to the aspirations of the Syrian people for freedom and dignity.
The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes the following:
- The importance of national balance in appointing the transitional president’s quota, ensuring the representation of all societal components, especially women, minorities, and regions that did not participate in the current formation, in order to reinforce the principle of national partnership.
- The necessity of building state institutions based on the law and institutions, free from narrow loyalties, and ensuring the independence of the authorities, effective oversight, and respect for rights and freedoms.
- Calling for a comprehensive national dialogue that includes political and civil forces, with the aim of formulating a new social contract and preparing for a permanent constitution to be presented to the people, establishing a civil, democratic state.
- Working to reintegrate provinces excluded from legislative representation through political and security mechanisms that ensure the participation of all Syrians in shaping their future.
- Rejecting any attempt to reproduce tyranny under any pretext, and emphasizing that the transitional phase must be a gateway to a pluralistic political system that guarantees the peaceful transfer of power.
