The Syrian Future Movement is following with great appreciation and interest the humanitarian and national initiative launched by a number of Syrian doctors abroad, entitled “Houla Doctors Abroad.” This initiative aims to support Houla Hospital in the northern Homs countryside by providing its basic needs for three months, expanding its departments, and equipping its upper floors to accommodate the increasing number of patients, which has exceeded seven thousand cases per month.
The Syrian Future Movement believes that this initiative represents a living example of the deep connection between Syrians abroad and their homeland. It affirms that belonging is not limited by geography or distance, but rather manifests itself in humanitarian action and professional initiatives that reconnect what was severed by war and displacement.
The Syrian Future Movement believes that this step is not merely a matter of medical support, but rather a political and moral act that restores the concept of national solidarity and establishes a new culture of cross-border civic action. This initiative transforms the Syrian diaspora from a state of alienation into an effective force in rebuilding society and repairing the legacy of years of oppression and destruction.
We, in the Syrian Future Movement, value these blessed efforts and call for the proliferation of this model in various vital sectors, including education, health, and services, in all governorates, cities, and villages. This can be achieved through Syrian professional and civil networks abroad, capable of supporting those inside Syria through institutional and sustainable means, independent of political alignments or narrow calculations.
We also emphasize that supporting Houla Hospital, which has witnessed stages of revolution and suffering, carries a profound national symbolism. It restores dignity to areas long marginalized and forgotten, and gives its people a glimmer of hope for regaining life and dignity.
The Syrian Future Movement calls on all Syrian civil and professional forces, both at home and abroad, to join forces to build national support networks that will restore Syrians’ self-confidence and consolidate the values of solidarity and citizenship, for the sake of a free, unified, and just Syria for all its people.
