Meeting of the delegations of the Syrian government and the SDF

The Syrian Future Movement is closely following political and security developments in Syria, particularly those related to the relationship between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), as part of our ongoing efforts to promote stability and national unity under the umbrella of a state of citizenship, justice, and institutions that guarantee the rights of all Syrian communities.

The Syrian Future Movement welcomes the meeting held in Aleppo on the evening of Thursday, September 4, 2025, between representatives of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and leaders of the Syrian Democratic Forces, on the one hand, and Syrian government officials, on the other. This meeting represents a positive step toward implementing the April 2025 agreement, signed on April 1, 2025, which includes 14 key provisions aimed at promoting coexistence, protecting civilians, preventing armed manifestations, and regulating internal security in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes the importance of halting military buildup, ending tensions, and forming joint committees to monitor the implementation of the agreement, while facilitating movement in and out of the two neighborhoods, as agreed upon by both parties. However, we express our concern about some reports indicating suspicious military movements or failure to implement some provisions.

The Syrian Future Movement calls on all parties to fully commit to peaceful dialogue as an alternative to any military option, while preserving the unity of Syrian territory and rejecting any attempts at secession or escalation. We also believe that a comprehensive political solution, based on decentralized services, is the path we propose to build the future of Syria, in which all forces are integrated within the framework of the national state while respecting cultural and administrative diversity.
