Launching the “Bridges of Healing and Hope 2” project to treat cancer patients

The Syrian Future Movement is following with great interest the launch of the “Bridges of Healing and Hope 2” project by the Qatar Red Crescent, in cooperation with the Taiba Foundation, to treat cancer patients in northern Syria. This qualitative step reflects the spirit of human solidarity and responds to a pressing need that has long plagued liberated areas due to the systematic neglect and deliberate destruction of healthcare infrastructure by the Syrian regime.

The Syrian Future Movement considers the provision of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and hormonal therapy to 112 patients, as part of a comprehensive treatment plan, not merely a medical intervention. Rather, it affirms that the right to life and healthcare is an integral part of the transitional justice that the movement is striving to establish in post-tyranny Syria.

The Syrian Future Movement views this project as a practical model of what humanitarian partnerships should be during the reconstruction phase: partnerships that respect human dignity, are based on community needs, and are managed efficiently and transparently, free from politicization or factional exploitation.

The Syrian Future Movement believes that such projects open up broad horizons for Syrian youth:

  • Participation in volunteer health work.
  • Professional training in medical and psychological support fields.
  • Establishing community networks that promote a culture of care and solidarity.
Young people are not just recipients of services, but rather partners in shaping a new health model that combines competence and compassion, knowledge and responsibility.

The Syrian Future Movement calls on the implementing agencies of this project, and all actors in the humanitarian field, to:

  • Expand the scope of the project to include other deprived areas.
  • Integrate psychosocial support services within healthcare.
  • Involve young Syrian talent in planning and implementation, ensuring sustainable local capacity building.

The “Bridges of Healing and Hope” project affirms that a new Syria is built on the foundations of dignity, justice, and solidarity.

While appreciating this initiative, the Syrian Future Movement affirms its commitment to continuing the struggle for a just, independent national health system, built on the needs of the people, not the interests of regimes.
