The Syrian Future Movement expresses deep concern over this deteriorating humanitarian situation, particularly following statements made by Mr. Adam Abdelmoula, the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Syria, on August 21, 2025, which revealed a serious funding shortfall for the 2025 humanitarian response, with only 13% of the $3 billion requested covered. The movement emphasizes the need to fundamentally rethink the mechanisms for dealing with this crisis.
The Syrian Future Movement sees this challenge not only as a call to increase aid, but also as an opportunity to transform the crisis into a platform for innovation, where Syrian youth become key players in formulating solutions, rather than simply recipients of aid. We grew up in the heart of the revolution and were raised amidst the rubble, and we believe that the severe shortage of basic services calls for thinking outside the traditional framework.
In this context, the Syrian Future Movement proposes the adoption of advanced digital solutions, such as the creation of smart platforms powered by artificial intelligence technologies to distribute resources and enabling Syrians in the diaspora to provide direct support through blockchain-based applications, ensuring the highest levels of transparency and efficiency.
We see these and other initiatives as a practical embodiment of a youth vision rising from the ruins of war, as is the case with the “From Conflict to Code” projects, which contribute to transforming youth from victims to developers of digital infrastructure.
In light of the energy crisis, the Syrian Future Movement sees the need to invest in youth-led solar energy projects to transform the Syrian deserts into clean energy production plants, inspired by the models of environmental youth centers supported by international organizations such as UNICEF.
This is the modern nationalism we seek: a nationalism based on action, combining Syrian cultural heritage with contemporary technology, and establishing an independent, smart state that attracts unconditional investment.
The Syrian Future Movement appreciates the national efforts led by President Ahmad al-Sharaa, which aim to reduce dependence on conditional foreign aid and strengthen the local economy based on the capabilities and resources of Syrians. We see his vision intersecting with our aspirations and vision.
The Syrian Future Movement calls on the international community to move beyond traditional relief support and engage in strategic partnerships with Syrian initiatives, such as the Humanitarian Design Workshops, which contribute to rebuilding the social fabric, inspired by the experiences of pioneering institutions such as the Aga Khan. We also see the opening of trade routes as an opportunity to launch Syrian e-commerce platforms that combine traditional crafts with digital marketing, giving every citizen the opportunity to become an entrepreneur.
The Syrian Future Movement is not only a political organization, but a vibrant national youth movement seeking to build a comprehensive national consensus based on the values of innovation and dignity.
Therefore, we call on all Syrians to transform from victims of conflict into creators of the future, setting an example to the world on how to empower youth and harness technology to rebuild nations.
Today, we, in the Syrian Future Movement, issue a call for a national green and digital revolution, led by the youth, because Syria’s future begins here, and with us.
