Declaration of a comprehensive ceasefire

At a crucial moment for Syria, and in affirmation of the Syrian Future Movement’s principled position in supporting any steps that lead to stopping the bloodshed in Syria and consolidating the foundations of stability,

The Syrian Future Movement appreciates the declaration of a comprehensive and immediate ceasefire by the Presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic, and considers it a necessary step in the right direction to save the country and its citizens.

The Syrian Future Movement calls for:

Full commitment by all parties to this resolution, without exception, and to spare civilians the scourge of fighting.

Putting in place the political and institutional conditions that ensure this resolution becomes an effective entry point for a comprehensive national solution based on justice, freedom, and democracy.

Using this declaration to open the way for serious national dialogue within a roadmap that guarantees the country’s unity and sovereignty.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes:

The security, safety, and property of citizens are the top priority at any stage or political consensus.

Legal accountability for any violation of this resolution is imperative, to ensure respect for national sovereignty and enhance Syrians’ confidence in state institutions.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that a ceasefire should not be the end of the process, but rather the beginning of a path toward building a state of law and citizenship, one that preserves the dignity of its people and establishes a lasting and comprehensive peace in Syria.
