Regarding the Assault on Judge “Ahmad Haskal” in the City of Aleppo

The Syrian Future Movement expresses its strong condemnation of the assault on Judge “Ahmad Haskal” while performing his judicial duties in the city of Aleppo on May 24, 2025. We see in this assault an affront to the authority of the judiciary, which constitutes a flagrant violation of the independence of judicial institutions and threatens the foundations of justice that Syrians strive to uphold.

The Syrian Future Movement appreciates the swift legal measures taken by the Ministry of Justice, including the detention of those involved and the immediate opening of an investigation. Here, we emphasize the importance of ensuring full protection for judges in performing their duties and not allowing any form of encroachment on the dignity of the judiciary.

The Syrian Future Movement stresses that justice and accountability must proceed through proper legal channels, away from any abuses or attempts to distort the facts. We also warn against being drawn into malicious rumors that aim to tarnish the image of the Syrian judiciary and call on all relevant parties to take responsibility for upholding the values of justice and judicial independence.

The Syrian Future Movement believes that protecting the judiciary and enhancing its independence is the cornerstone of any genuine legal framework. This requires continuous cooperation among the concerned institutions to ensure that justice is achieved, free from any unlawful pressures or abuses.

The Syrian Future Movement calls for the restoration of Judge “Ahmad Haskal’s” standing to protect the dignity of the judiciary and preserve its prestige.
