On Labor Day

The Syrian Future Movement celebrates Labor Day, observed annually on the first of May, as a global occasion to honor the efforts and sacrifices of workers in building societies and achieving economic and social development.

The Syrian Future Movement sees the importance of this day as a moment to promote the values of hard work and solidarity among workers. It is also an opportunity to highlight their rights and just demands, especially amid the difficult circumstances Syria is experiencing.

The Syrian Future Movement calls, in the post-Assad phase, for the support of workers and the reinforcement of Labor Day values to be a fundamental part of the process of rebuilding Syria. Workers are the backbone of any society, and ensuring their rights guarantees a just and sustainable future for all.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that internationally recognized workers’ rights—such as the right to decent work, fair wages, and safe working conditions—must be fully integrated into Syria’s future legislation and policies. These rights are not merely demands; they are the foundation for achieving social justice and sustainable development.

The Syrian Future Movement urges all parties to commit to supporting workers and safeguarding their rights, and to work towards building a society that respects the value of labor and appreciates the efforts of workers in shaping a better future for Syria.
