The Security Agreement Between Syria and Lebanon

The Syrian Future Movement warmly welcomes the signing of the security agreement between Syria and Lebanon during the meeting hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah on Thursday, 27/3/2025, in the presence of the defense ministers of the three countries and with the participation of high-level security delegations.

The Syrian Future Movement sees this agreement as an important step toward enhancing security and stability in the region, reflecting the commitment of the involved parties to developing cooperative relations that serve mutual interests.

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes the significance of this meeting in reinforcing the concept of regional partnership, distancing from division projects that threaten Syria’s unity and stability. The demarcation of borders between the two countries and the formation of legal and specialized committees for security and legal cooperation lay the foundation for strong relations based on mutual respect and national sovereignty.

The Syrian Future Movement views this agreement as an opportunity to strengthen regional security and address shared challenges, including combating terrorism and organized crime while ensuring border stability in a way that benefits both the Syrian and Lebanese peoples. However, this should be part of a comprehensive vision aimed at reinforcing national sovereignty and shielding Syria from external interference or divisive agendas.

The Syrian Future Movement calls for building on this agreement through enhanced political and diplomatic dialogue between Syria and Lebanon and developing sustainable cooperation mechanisms in economic and social fields to promote development and prosperity for both nations.

The Syrian Future Movement expresses its appreciation for the role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in hosting this meeting and affirms that strengthening regional cooperation is the most effective path to achieving security and stability in the region, away from any projects that threaten the unity and sovereignty of states.
