Military Escalation on the Syrian-Lebanese Border

The Syrian Future Movement condemns Iran and its allies’ policy of pushing Shiite tribes to open an armed confrontation with the Syrian state, starting from the village of “Huweik” and extending to the rest of the border areas.

The Syrian Future Movement calls on the Lebanese state to intervene urgently and immediately and to stop the tribal disorder from the Lebanese side.

The Syrian Future Movement calls on the Syrian state to prioritize reason in dealing with the Lebanese tribes, which Iran’s proxies seek to turn into a platform for military conflict between the two countries.

The Syrian Future Movement calls on the Syrian and Lebanese states to enhance communication and coordination to prevent the two countries from being dragged into any military escalation that serves the interests of the enemies of the “state” option in both countries.

The Syrian Future Movement calls on the Sunni and Shiite Lebanese tribes to prevent Iran from exploiting the tribal issue to fragment Lebanese unity and then destabilize Syria.

The Syrian Future Movement considers smuggling routes and Captagon an existential threat to Syria and Lebanon; therefore, we support all efforts to eliminate these threats from both the Syrian and Lebanese states.

The Syrian Future Movement considers the popular interconnection between Syria and Lebanon a positive factor that should be built upon for further coordination between the two countries.
