On this day in 2012: Deir ez-Zor witnessed protests in the neighborhoods of Al-Qusour, Al-Joura, and Al-Arfi in the city, as well as in the towns and villages of Al-Quriyah, Al-Jerthi, Ayash, and Al-Tayana, among others. An evening protest also took place in front of the mourning council for the young man Zaher Kuwider.
