Statement of the Riyadh meeting on Syria

The Syrian Future Movement welcomes the statement issued by the international meeting in Riyadh regarding Syria, which was held on Sunday, 2025/01/12. The statement called for the lifting of sanctions imposed on Syria and for creating conditions for the return of Syrian refugees to their country.

The Syrian Future Movement thanks the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for sponsoring the international meeting and its diligent efforts to ensure its success.

The Syrian Future Movement affirms Syria’s deep Arab ties as the most suitable and permanent foundation for Syria’s transition to a new phase after the fall of the Assad regime.

The Syrian Future Movement views the international meeting held in Riyadh as an important signal for a future political path that promotes stability in Syria, rejecting any obstacles to it.

The Syrian Future Movement recommends that the new administration build and strengthen more Arab and international alliances in ways that serve Syria’s interests.

The Syrian Future Movement rejects certain calls from within Syria that advocate for transferring the revolution to other Arab countries, such as Egypt, and calls for preventing such platforms, alerting to the harms they could cause to our country and people.

The Syrian Future Movement calls for the Arab League to sponsor a Syrian National Dialogue Conference, ensuring that it results in an outcome that satisfies Syrians and contributes to the sustainability and stability of the new phase.
