From the memory of the Syrian revolution: 25/12/2011

On this day in 2011: Evening protests took place in the city of Hama under the slogan “Iran is a partner in the crime,” covering the neighborhoods of Al-Farayeh, Al-Hamidiyah, and Al-Qusour. Protesters expressed solidarity with the besieged cities and raised a cardboard sign reading “Santa Claus wants to overthrow the regime.” Demonstrations also took place in the countryside of Hama, in the areas of Tayyibat al-Imam, the town of Khattab, Tarmisa, Karnaz, and Salamiyah. Protesters chanted “Long live Syria, down with Bashar al-Assad,” “Syria is ours, not the Assad family’s,” and “Death is better than humiliation.” The people of the village of Al-Shiha participated in the funeral of martyr Corporal Khadr Ibrahim, who was killed under torture after being arrested on charges of attempting to defect.
