On this day in 2011: The Free Syrian Army announced the formation of a temporary military council headed by Colonel Riad Mousa Al-Asaad, with membership including prominent officers such as Colonel Malik Kurdi, Colonel Ahmad Hijazi, and Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Razzaq Rahmoun.
