From the memory of the Syrian revolution: 11/09/2011

On this day in 2011: the pro-regime newspaper Al-Watan, citing “local sources in Idlib province,” announced the arrest of Lieutenant Colonel Hussein Harmoush, the founder and leader of the “Free Officers Brigade.” The newspaper reported that “Harmoush had been moving between Syria and Turkey for some time and was arrested at the end of last week in his village, Iblin, along with several individuals wanted by justice.” It added that “security forces carried out a special operation in the village and captured Harmoush alive, in possession of medium and light weapons, communication devices, and computers.”
