From the memory of the Syrian revolution:14/07/2011

On this day in 2011, thousands in the city of Deir ez-Zor buried Amer Zamzam, who was killed by military security forces. The mourners chanted for the martyrs and freedom and demanded the fall of the Syrian regime. The city witnessed evening demonstrations in several neighborhoods, with protests converging in Al-Madlaji Square in the city center. Demonstrations also took place in the towns of Mayadin and Al-Bukamal in the province’s countryside. A number of tribal leaders from the province gathered in the town of Al-Quriyah, affirming their unified stance to continue the peaceful revolution against the regime and their rejection of any foreign intervention.
