At the invitation of the preparatory committee for the founders of the ‘Syrian-Turkish Social and Cultural Club’ in Istanbul, Dr. Zaher Baadarani, President of the Syrian Future Movement (SFM), attended the fifth session of the preparatory committee meetings for the ‘Turkish Social and Cultural Club’. The meeting took place at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at the Istanbul Law Firm complex.
The session was opened by Dr. Mohammad Ramadan, head of the preparatory committee. He reviewed the names of the proposed offices to be established, along with confirming the members willing to work in them, totaling six offices.
Mr. Arjan Sari was present at the meeting. He spoke about the visit to the Istanbul Immigration Administration along with Dr. Mohammad Ramadan, Dr. Omar Shahrour, and others. The discussions focused on matters concerning Syrians living in Istanbul, highlighting the importance of the meeting in improving the brotherly relationship between the Syrian and Turkish people and addressing several issues faced by Syrians. He outlined several priority issues to be discussed with the Turkish side, including:
- Forced deportation and ways to address it legally and humanely.
- Work permits and their issuance.
- Expired residencies.
- Travel permits and facilitating the movement of Syrians between Turkish states.
