Feeding people is a characteristic of the noble. Among the things mentioned about its virtue is that feeding people is a characteristic of the righteous people of Paradise, who will be saved from the horrors of the Day of Resurrection. Allah the Almighty said: {And they give food, in spite of the love for it, to the poor, the orphan, and the captive, [saying], “We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We desire from you no reward, nor thanks. Indeed, we fear from our Lord a Day [of] distress and distress.” So Allah protected them from the evil of that Day and met them with radiance and joy. And He rewarded them for what they patiently endured with a garden and silk garments.} [Al-Insan: 5-12].
Those who feed people, especially during times of famine, are among the companions of the right hand, who will pass the steep path, escape the Fire, and enter Paradise. God Almighty says: {But he did not attempt the steep path. And what can make you know what is the steep path? It is the freeing of a slave, or the feeding on a day of severe hunger, an orphan near of kin, or a needy person in distress. Then he was among those who believed and advised each other to patience and advised each other to compassion. Those are the companions of the right hand.} [Al-Balad: 11-18].
A man asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): “Which Islam is best?” He said: “Feeding the poor and greeting those you know and those you do not know.” (Agreed upon). Donate to feed the poor, and you will have a share of goodness through this.
