(SFM) massages (14): Preserving property.

My brothers and sisters, in the homeland of honor and pride, it is God’s will that I and you are faithful guardians of our nation’s public properties. We protect them from all harm, shield them from all evil, and safeguard them from any tampering. How can we not, when they are the glory of our past, the strength of our present, and the cornerstone of building our future!

Let us protect them with our vigilant eyes and our strong, capable arms, for in their preservation lies the preservation of our identity and heritage, and the safeguarding of our achievements and history. They are our possession today as they were to our ancestors before us, and a trust in our necks that we pass on to future generations. We enjoy them as long as we live, rely on them as long as we remain, and take pride in them through the days and times. They are the tree that shades us with its branches, the bench we rest on in our gardens, the water fountain that delights the viewers in our squares, the towering minarets that echo the eternal call in our skies, and the castles that encircle the land of the homeland and protect it, telling the tales of the invaders who perished therein. Do not let negligence find a way to these trusts, and do not allow vandalism to touch them with harm despite the circumstances of wars and the repercussions of crises. Any damage inflicted on them will remain a bleeding wound in the heart of the homeland that needs care to heal, and a long time to mend.

And may God have mercy on the one who said:
My country’s love is in my tongue and in my blood,
My heart glorifies it, and my mouth prays for it.
There is no good in those who, if they love their homes,
Stay to weep over a ruined quarter.
It is only its men who elevate a nation,
And how can people ascend without a ladder?
