Podcast of SFM (34): Legislative Package from the SFM’s Perspective
- Religious legislations are a historically rooted phase in the structure and entity of the Syrian state, thus they should be considered and reviewed in our time as long as the need arises.
- We regard religious legislations as a source of legal legislation and a fundamental right.
- Civil law, emerging from the citizens of the nation, is a civilized state through which the entanglement between sectarian and religious pluralism on one hand, and the application of religious legislations through peaceful means on the other hand, can be resolved.
- National interest does not conflict with religious objectives, and if such a conflict appears, it is an illusory one, stemming from not achieving the correct national interest or not choosing the correct religious legislation.
- Resolving entanglements in the legislative aspect is important and necessary to counter the narratives of violent organizations and to safeguard the nation in the present and the future.
