Syrian Future Movement and Animal Rights

The Movement plans to revive and develop the “animal waqf” that was in place in Syria before the current Syrian regime took power.

The Syrian Future Movement is committed to implementing international conventions and treaties that focus on animals, protecting them from cruelty in treatment or exploitation, and supports initiatives like the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), which regulates the trade of endangered species to prevent their extinction.
The Syrian Future Movement supports the efforts of local and international animal rights activists, opening its doors in Syria for collaboration towards a better reality concerning animal rights.
The Movement particularly looks after animals that have been harmed by bombing or destruction in any way, by providing them with special health care to enable them to benefit from their right to life and to benefit humans positively.
The Syrian Future Movement is working towards a deep cultural change in how Syrians interact with animals, with a focus also on the quality of meat foods, including both marine and riverine fish.
