On this day in 2011, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu, urged the “Syrian leadership” to immediately halt the use of force against popular demonstrations, engage in dialogue with all forces in Syria, and respond to the legitimate demands of the people.
