“Congratulations to Germany, the ‘Grandmother of Syria'”

The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) congratulates the Federal Republic of Germany, both government and people, on the “German Unity Day”, which falls on 3-10-1990.

The Syrian Future Movement perceives that the historical context of dividing Germany into four parts, and then the proposal to unify “West Germany” carries certain similarities to the current Syrian context in one way or another. For this reason, the SFM refers to Germany in this context as the “Grandmother of Syria.”

The SFM believes that the German unity context is a unique model that can be applied to the current Syrian situation given the realities and evolving circumstances (with a purely Syrian touch).

The SFM strongly supports the proposal of the “West German scenario” and the “Forbidden Land” as proposed by the Syrian American Initiative (SAI) represented by the Global Justice Syrian American organization and the Arab Democratic Coalition.

The SFM collaborates with all entities that believe in the German model as a realistic solution for Syria.

The SFM works with all concerned parties to align views of countries related to the northern, eastern, and southern Syrian regions.

The SFM seeks advice and assistance from the German government in conveying their pioneering experience in unifying West Germany, as it was the core of the final solution to the German crisis and the Soviet Union’s loss of East Germany.

The SFM stresses the importance of leveraging the “West German” model and applying it to areas outside the control of the Syrian regime as the sole realistic solution given the stagnation of the political solution, the Syrian regime’s obstinacy in implementing the Geneva resolutions, and UN Resolution 2254.

The SFM believes that the application of the German model contributes to the return of Syrian refugees, alleviates the burden on host countries, and removes the Syrian regime’s manipulation of the Syrian refugee card.
