(SFM) Statement of Support for the Letter from Members of the American Democratic Party

Nearly 60 Democratic members in both the U.S. House and Senate signed a letter last Friday night, 03/11/2023, addressed to Secretary of State Antony Blinken. They called on him to urge the Israeli government to make greater efforts to reduce civilian casualties and to implement “humanitarian truces” as proposed by the American administration. The letter also presses Israel to adhere to international law, reduce human loss in Gaza, suppress violence by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, and work towards a long-lasting peace agreement.

The Syrian Future Movement believes in a human conscience that unequivocally rejects injustice and evil in all its forms.

The Syrian Future Movement looks to the free individuals in America who are committed to protecting the entire international order to stand against those attempting to breach and destroy this system under false religious pretexts.

The Syrian Future Movement endorses the initiation of immediate humanitarian truces in Palestine, and applying pressure on both Israeli and Palestinian parties to agree to a complete and comprehensive peace (as it represents an interest and necessity for all).

The Syrian Future Movement awaits America to act as a fair and comprehensive peace broker in the Middle East, rather than a clearly biased party siding with Israel against the Palestinians.

The Syrian Future Movement believes that peace between Palestinians and Israelis will positively influence the sought-after peace in Syria, and that any escalation will negatively affect Syria.

As a representative of Syrian consciousness, the Syrian Future Movement stands with all oppressed, persecuted, and refugee individuals regardless of their religion, nationality, or ethnicity. Hence, we in the Syrian Future Movement align ourselves with all civilians who endure the hardships of war.

The Syrian Future Movement sees it as essential to bring those who commit crimes against civilians to international trial, serving as a deterrent to others and reinforcing the principle of international accountability to maintain global security and peace.

The Syrian Future Movement perceives that its study published on its website today, entitled “Syrian Peace from the Womb of the Aqsa Flood,” is nearly a reality pursued by all international actors, each from their respective global standing and influence.
