{"id":66977,"date":"2026-08-17T14:04:59","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T11:04:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sfuturem.org\/?p=66977"},"modified":"2026-08-17T14:10:21","modified_gmt":"2026-08-17T11:10:21","slug":"independence-day-of-the-republic-of-indonesia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sfuturem.org\/en\/2026\/08\/independence-day-of-the-republic-of-indonesia\/","title":{"rendered":"Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Syrian Future Movement extends its heartfelt congratulations to the sisterly Republic of Indonesia, its leadership and people, on the occasion of its Independence Day and the founding of its modern republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We believe this historic occasion represents an inspiring global model for all peoples aspiring to escape the yoke of colonialism and structural crises, and to join the ranks of advanced and stable nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We in the Syrian Future Movement, as we formulate strategic visions for the Syrian transitional phase, view the Indonesian experience with great appreciation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Indonesia not only secured its sovereignty but also succeeded in transforming the immense ethnic and linguistic diversity across its archipelago into a source of strength and cohesion under its authentic national motto, &#8220;Unity in Diversity.&#8221; It has forged an economic renaissance that has placed it among the world&#8217;s leading developmental powers. These are lessons that Syria needs today as it rebuilds its social contract and national institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Syrian Future Movement believes that commemorating Indonesia&#8217;s independence anniversary holds profound values \u200b\u200bfor our intellectual perspective, foremost among them:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The value of &#8220;unity in diversity&#8221; as a safeguard: demonstrating that the multiplicity of ethnicities and cultures within a single nation is not a cause for fragmentation, but rather a national asset requiring wise political leadership and laws that foster equal citizenship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development as a cornerstone of true sovereignty: independence is not achieved solely through military withdrawal, but also through economic independence, improving the standard of living, and building advanced educational and industrial systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Moderation and social harmony: adopting the values \u200b\u200bof rational dialogue and universal human principles as key bulwarks against the rhetoric of extremism and exclusion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Syrian Future Movement notes that international data and reports issued for 2026 demonstrate the extent of Indonesia&#8217;s structural success, which serves as an inspiration for our future Syrian vision:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Managing Population Diversity: Indonesia has over 275 million inhabitants spread across thousands of islands and speaking hundreds of local languages. Despite this diversity, the country&#8217;s unifying national language and constitution have successfully forged a cohesive political identity, preventing separatist civil wars.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainable Economic Growth: Indonesia is now ranked among the world&#8217;s largest emerging economies (within the G20), thanks to its focus on manufacturing, digital transformation, and attracting foreign investment\u2014a model Syria aspires to adopt once its political process stabilizes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implications for the Syrian Reality: During the war, Syria lost enormous economic assets, production rates plummeted, and the social fabric was torn apart. This makes studying the recovery experiences of Southeast Asian countries an absolute necessity for Syrian economic and political planning committees during the transitional phase.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Syrian Future Movement, through this statement, presents its fundamental approaches to building a balanced Syria:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Formulating a comprehensive Syrian social contract: We believe that Syria&#8217;s future depends on adopting a model of citizenship that recognizes the diverse Syrian mosaic (Arabs, Kurds, Turkmen, Syriacs, Assyrians, Circassians, and Armenians) as a unique national strength, and on drafting laws that protect this diversity within the framework of Syrian territorial integrity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developmental diplomacy and strategic openness: Abandoning policies of isolation and narrow alliances, and building close partnerships with emerging Islamic and international economies to benefit from their technical and administrative expertise in the reconstruction of Syrian cities and regions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Investing in human capital and youth: Making education and professional innovation the driving force of Syrian advancement, and transforming untapped potential into productive forces that contribute to nation-building and economic stability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Based on our positive celebration of this momentous occasion, and because we wish to benefit from the Indonesian experience\u2014which we consider central to the importance and role of commemorating this event\u2014the Syrian Future Movement recommends the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Establishing specialized research centers in Asian diplomacy: Inviting contemporary Syrian intellectual and political entities to study the constitutional and economic models of Southeast Asian countries (such as Indonesia and Malaysia) to draw inspiration for flexible solutions for managing transitional phases and reconstruction.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishing future agreements for technical exchange: Developing strategic plans to establish joint business councils as soon as the country stabilizes, with the aim of transferring advanced Indonesian industrial and agricultural technology to support the Syrian production sector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Activating &#8220;cultural diversity diplomacy&#8221;: Supporting Syrian youth and academic initiatives aimed at spreading a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, inspired by international experiences that have successfully quelled civil conflicts through the rule of law and distributive justice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthening educational partnerships and scholarships: Recommending future coordination with universities and technological institutes in friendly countries to provide specialized scholarships for Syrian youth in the fields of management, engineering, and artificial intelligence to build the cadres capable of leading the institutions of tomorrow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
