The Syrian Future Movement commends the efforts of the new Syrian government in combating terrorism, especially its joining the US-led international coalition against ISIS in November 2028, and the launch of the National Strategy for Combating Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism on July 21, 2026, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme, as a significant step towards cutting off the organization’s funding sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the Movement believes that the greatest challenge lies in transforming these efforts into a comprehensive national strategy that integrates security measures, institutional reform, community development, and adherence to tolerant Islamic values, thus ensuring the eradication of terrorism once and for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
First<\/strong>, the Syrian Future Movement reads the UN report within its national and humanitarian context. We note with grave concern that the UN report confirms that ISIS continues to pose a real threat, and that its danger has become more complex with its use of modern technologies such as commercial satellite communication systems, artificial intelligence tools, and digital currencies. This necessitates the continuous development of counterterrorism capabilities to keep pace with the organization’s evolving tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Syrian Future Movement points out that the report revealed assassination attempts against national leaders. The organization attempted to assassinate a number of Syrian officials, including President Ahmed al-Sharaa, revealing malicious intentions to destabilize the country and target symbols of the transitional phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We view these attempts as an attack on the national will and an effort to derail the project of building the new state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Secondly, the Syrian Future Movement reiterates its unwavering stance against terrorism and in defense of society on its official website.
