In this context, a delegation from the Syrian Future Movement&#8217;s Family Office participated in a local consultative workshop entitled &#8220;The Role of Women and Girls in Disaster Risk Reduction in Syria,&#8221; held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the Liwan Hall in Douma. The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management, in partnership with UN Women, the Women-Led Organizations Platform in Syria, and the Finnish Refugee Council (FCA), and was attended by representatives from several local organizations, institutions, and associations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This workshop is part of a series of consultative workshops being held across Syria, following two previous workshops in Aleppo and Homs. The workshops reviewed the key outcomes of those earlier workshops, discussed previous recommendations, and worked to develop them further to align with the needs of communities in various Syrian regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workshop addressed several important topics, most notably identifying community needs during disasters, strengthening the role of women and girls in protecting their dignity and empowering them to play active roles in response and recovery, discussing early response mechanisms, disaster risk reduction priorities, and formulating practical recommendations based on local experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Representatives from the Family Office of the Syrian Future Movement participated in the workshop, including Ms. Bashira Abdel Hadi and Mr. Haidar Hammadi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Movement&#8217;s representatives presented several interventions and insights that emphasized the importance of empowering families and women as essential partners in building more resilient societies, linking disaster management policies to community development, and promoting a culture of prevention and preparedness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Syrian Future Movement also welcomes Ms. Marwa Al-Tahhan as a member, wishing her success in her national endeavors and hoping she will be a valuable addition to the work of the Family Office and the Movement&#8217;s efforts in serving Syrian society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Syrian Future Movement affirms that enhancing women\u2019s participation in planning, responding to, and recovering from disasters is not merely a legal entitlement, but a national necessity that contributes to raising the efficiency of local communities and enhancing their ability to confront crises, based on the belief that building the future of Syria begins with building the human being and enabling all components of society to
