This belief is based on recent medical reports issued by the WHO for 2026, which confirm that viral hepatitis causes more than 1.3 million deaths annually worldwide, thus necessitating the integration of epidemic control into the core of urgent humanitarian response plans in our country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement affirms that the health and environmental sectors in Syria have faced a “horrific structural collapse” throughout the years of the war against Assad. Specialized field reports this year indicate a continuous increase in hepatitis A and E infection rates in informal displacement camps and northern Syria, a direct result of contaminated drinking water, damage to sewage networks exceeding 60%, and the absence of basic sanitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes the urgent need to break the logistical blockade and secure specialized medications and treatment doses for patients with chronic hepatitis B and C. This is especially critical given that medical indicators have shown the severe shortage of laboratory testing equipment and early viral screening has contributed to hundreds of cases progressing to cirrhosis and liver cancer, representing a catastrophic financial and human drain on Syrian society during this transitional phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement links the national health response to the international system through a civilizational, values-based, and ethical approach. It believes that commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 3 on health and well-being, is a shared responsibility. This necessitates that the World Health Organization and international donors refrain from politicizing medical aid and provide urgent support for the localization of comprehensive screening and immunization programs in Syria as a universal humanitarian value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement is committed to the ongoing effort to create a suitable legal and developmental framework to ensure the success of the transitional phase. It asserts that building a “state of citizenship and welfare” requires formulating a “National Strategy for Health Security and Environmental Sanitation” and a gradual shift from a mindset of receiving temporary relief aid to building a sustainable medical infrastructure that protects the minds and bodies of Syrians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
