But there is something that neither machines nor money can easily restore: human beings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Human beings are not built with cement, but rather with ideas, values, upbringing, role models, and justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps the most dangerous legacy of the protracted Syrian war is not just the hundreds of thousands of victims or the millions of displaced people, but the heavy burden it has left on people&#8217;s souls: fear, revenge, suspicion, hatred, and mistrust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Herein lies the most dangerous battle in the new Syria; it is not the battle to rebuild cities, but the battle to rebuild the Syrian conscience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The state may rebuild the physical structures, but only society can rebuild the human being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This leads to the legitimate question:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How do we raise a generation that remembers the past without becoming enslaved by it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How do we raise our children on justice without instilling hatred in them?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How do we protect the rights of victims without bequeathing to their children a desire for revenge?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are not merely educational questions, but also religious, cultural, and political ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-islam-did-not-build-a-nation-on-hatred\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Islam did not build a nation on hatred:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone who reads the Holy Quran with a focus on its objectives will discover that Islam did not make hatred the foundation of any human relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Quran does not deny the existence of enmities and conflicts, but it establishes ethical guidelines to prevent them from escalating into perpetual hatred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God Almighty says: {And let not the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness.} (Quran 5:8) This verse is perhaps one of the greatest foundational texts for a just state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Quran does not ask you to love those who have wronged you, but it does ask you not to let their injustice prevent you from establishing justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a vast difference between Islam and cultures of revenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As God Almighty says: {Repel evil with that which is better; then the one with whom you have enmity will become as though he was a devoted friend.} (Quran 41:34) The ultimate goal of religion is not to increase the number of enemies, but to decrease it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was not so much a warmonger as he was a builder of societies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-most-dangerous-thing-wars-do-is-reshape-children\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The most dangerous thing wars do is reshape children:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Psychologists confirm that children are not born hateful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hate is not an instinct! It is a learned behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Children learn it from their environment, their family, their school, the media, and religious discourse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When a child grows up hearing every day that others are inherently enemies, they begin to build their identity on negating others rather than building themselves (and this is where the crisis begins).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Millions of Syrian children have grown up witnessing death more than playgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They have seen destruction more than gardens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They have heard the sounds of weapons more than music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If educational and religious institutions do not intervene today, the war will continue inside their minds even if it ends on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-difference-between-memory-and-hatred\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The difference between memory and hatred:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most dangerous educational mistakes is for some people to think that forgetting the past is the path to reconciliation. This is incorrect! Forgetting is not a cure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conversely, turning memory into a perpetual fuel for revenge is not a solution either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Successful societies do not forget, but they remember in a healthy way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Justice preserves memory, while hatred enslaves it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, the people of Syria need to be taught that remembering injustices is a duty, but turning it into a perpetual project of revenge is dangerous for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Mosque: A School for Building Humanity<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In recent decades, the role of the mosque has been reduced by many to merely performing rituals!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout history, the mosque has been an institution for shaping humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was within its walls that Muslims learned knowledge, learned to manage differences, understood the meaning of consultation (shura), and were raised on responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, the Syrian mosque can return to its true role, not as a platform for conflict, but as a platform for rebuilding trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The preacher who instills mercy in hearts serves the nation as well as the faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the imam who teaches children to respect humanity builds the state before he builds the mosque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-family-the-first-factory-of-peace\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Family: The First Factory of Peace<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before a child enters school, he has already learned most of his basic concepts within the home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, the Syrian family bears a historical responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A child who hears their parents constantly insulting others will learn that hatred is a natural language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But a child who sees their parents disagree respectfully will learn that disagreement does not mean hostility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is why education in dialogue begins in the living room, not the lecture hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-education-is-a-post-war-investment\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Education is a post-war investment:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every school built after a war is a project to prevent a new war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every teacher who instills the value of tolerance prevents dozens of future conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is why the new Syrian curriculum should not be limited to teaching mathematics and science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rather, it should teach managing differences, the culture of dialogue, respect for the law, critical thinking, teamwork, and social responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are not extra subjects! They are tools for protecting the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-we-cannot-demand-tolerance-without-justice\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">We cannot demand tolerance without justice:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">True tolerance is not born of injustice, but of justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, building a generation free from hatred does not mean ignoring crimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It does not mean relinquishing rights, nor does it mean letting criminals go unpunished. Rather, it means that retribution should be in the hands of the judiciary, not individuals, and that justice should become the alternative to revenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-new-syria-needs-a-unifying-identity\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The new Syria needs a unifying identity:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The war has shattered sub-identities, and many children now identify themselves by sect, region, or group before identifying as Syrian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the most dangerous consequence of conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">National identity is not a political slogan, but a necessity for the survival of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, every child must feel that they are a full partner in their homeland, and that their dignity is not tied to their religious, ethnic, or regional affiliation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-vision-of-the-syrian-future-movement\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The vision of the Syrian Future Movement:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Syrian Future Movement believes that the most crucial national project after the fall of tyranny is building the new Syrian individual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The true investment is not only in buildings, but also in minds and consciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Syria cannot rise with a generation that lives as a prisoner of the past or carries hatred as part of its identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Syria we want is a Syria that teaches its children that justice is stronger than revenge, that the law is stronger than vengeance, and that human life is more precious than all disputes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>And you Therefore, the Religious Affairs Office of the Syrian Future Movement recommends the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Developing a national religious discourse that reinforces mercy, justice, and citizenship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preparing joint programs between mosques, schools, and families to address the psychological effects of war.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training imams and preachers in skills for building civil peace and social cohesion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrating the values \u200b\u200bof dialogue and respect for differences into outreach and educational activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Launching youth initiatives that promote volunteer work and community service as practical means of overcoming divisions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supporting psychological and social counseling programs for children and adolescents affected by the war.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthening partnerships between religious, educational, and cultural institutions to cultivate a generation that believes in the state, the law, and humanity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-conclusion\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Building a generation free from hatred does not mean building a generation without memory, but rather building a generation with a just memory, not a vengeful one; a living conscience, not a hateful heart; and a faith that heals wounds, not widens them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the greatest challenge facing the new Syria.
