The Syrian Future Movement is following with interest the announcement of the agreement between the Syrian Arab Republic and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to renew and develop cultural cooperation agreements, expand areas of joint work in the fields of culture and the arts, protect heritage, and exchange cultural activities and programs between the two countries. This reflects the keenness of both sides to strengthen fraternal relations and consolidate the bonds of civilizational and cultural cooperation between the two brotherly peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement believes that culture represents one of the most important bridges connecting peoples and that it constitutes a fundamental pillar in promoting understanding, consolidating a shared civilizational identity, and confronting hate speech, extremism, and isolationism, especially in a region that has suffered in recent years from conflicts and divisions, accompanied by the targeting of tangible and intangible heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that cultural cooperation between Syria and Jordan should not be limited to exchanging delegations or holding joint events, but should develop to include strategic projects in the areas of protecting antiquities and manuscripts, digitizing heritage, encouraging translation and publishing, supporting cultural and creative industries, and exchanging academic expertise. This will contribute to building a sustainable cultural partnership that serves the interests of both countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The movement also believes that reviving Syria’s cultural role within its Arab context is a crucial part of restoring its civilizational presence, and that Arab cultural openness provides a gateway to strengthening cooperation in education, scientific research, cultural tourism, and community development, free from any considerations that hinder integration among Arab states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes that protecting cultural heritage is not solely the responsibility of governmental institutions, but rather a shared national and societal responsibility. This necessitates the involvement of universities, research centers, civil society organizations, and cultural bodies to ensure the preservation of national identity and the protection of historical memory for future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
