The Syrian Future Movement is following with great interest the announcement issued by the Ministry of Agriculture on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, regarding the allocation of \u20ac50 million to support farmers in the eastern region, along with the launch of financing programs to modernize agricultural equipment, under the direct instructions of President Ahmed al-Sharaa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This package includes a program for the purchase of tractors and harvesters on an installment plan over five years, funded by the Saudi Fund for Development, in addition to making harvesters available for purchase on an interest-free installment plan for two years, in cooperation with New Holland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement commends this package, which targets the eastern region, which has long suffered from neglect and marginalization during decades of the ousted regime’s rule, and which has been and remains Syria’s breadbasket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We also welcome President al-Sharaa’s directives, which place this region at the forefront of agricultural support priorities. This constitutes a recognition of the sacrifices made by the region’s inhabitants and a response to their urgent need to rehabilitate their agricultural sector. We view this support as a strategic investment in food security, a boost to resilience, and a means to facilitate the return of displaced persons to their lands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes the strategic importance of accessible installment programs, which help overcome financial obstacles for farmers, enabling them to modernize their agricultural machinery and increase production efficiency, thereby strengthening the sector’s ability to meet the country’s needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These installment programs, which include tractors and harvesters, represent a qualitative leap in supporting farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They contribute to easing the financial burden on farmers, modernizing the agricultural sector, reducing losses, and improving crop quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is worth noting that the eastern region, which produces the majority of wheat, barley, and cotton, is in dire need of such support to compensate for years of neglect and the destruction of its agricultural infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement reiterates its unwavering support for strengthening the agricultural sector and achieving balanced development, as published on its official website.
