The Syrian Future Movement is following with great interest the signing of the twinning and cooperation agreement between the Irbid Chamber of Commerce in Jordan and the Rural Damascus Chamber of Commerce in Syria, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the Syrian Chamber’s headquarters. The signing ceremony was attended by the heads of both chambers, Mohammad Al-Shouha and Abdul Rahim Ziada, respectively, as well as the head of the Syrian-Jordanian Business Council, Imad Adnan Al-Nen, and a number of businesspeople from both sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Firstly, the Syrian Future Movement commends this step, which establishes a permanent institutional framework for cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries. It considers this a practical manifestation of the deep-rooted fraternal relations between Syria and Jordan, and a reflection of a genuine desire to move beyond the current phase of anticipation towards a strategic economic partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This agreement will contribute to facilitating the movement of goods, increasing trade exchange, strengthening communication between economic actors, and overcoming obstacles facing the commercial sector. Therefore, we see this initiative as an embodiment of the shared desire to activate the role of the private sector as a fundamental pillar of economic development and to strengthen the fraternal relations that unite the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Second: The Syrian Future Movement notes that this agreement comes within the context of escalating cooperation between the two countries, exemplified by the signing of the natural gas supply agreement on January 26, 2026, and the launch of the joint operational water platform on April 22, 2026, reflecting a shared desire to build a comprehensive strategic partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agreement also aims to broaden the scope of cooperation to include the private sector and to develop joint implementation programs. These programs will encompass the exchange of trade delegations, the organization of exhibitions and economic forums, the exchange of information related to investment opportunities, and the facilitation of direct communication between businesspeople.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
